The Last Day of the Year. Back in September, our Team started a 90-day sprint. On each day in my big red diary, I wrote the number of workdays left in the year, all leading to today, this day. Today there are no workdays left in 2021. Close the book. We are done. It is always so difficult getting to this day. It really is a sprint to the very last minute, and there are still one or two stray items of business to be concluded before being really, truly done. But for now, I want to take a moment and acknowledge that we have arrived at the end.
I love our Last Day of the Year so much. We have a great tradition of meeting for a fancy boozy meal to close out the year, sharing secret Santa and exchanging gifts. Now that we are a virtual firm, we will have our monthly in-person team meeting this morning and then we are off to Perry’s for lunch and back to my downtown apartment balcony for signature cocktails, gifts and games. Our bar master Dominique Gergen went all-out on the cocktail planning. I just made the eggnog. I’m excited to share the Last Day of the Year celebrating our Team, our effort and the end of our sprint.
And we celebrate you, our network. Thank you for your support of our firm this year, for believing in us and what we have to offer the client. We hope you, too, can take time to celebrate your accomplishments this year and put down the pressure of professional life to recharge and renew.
