The traditional litigation model is the standard method for divorce process and is used for any divorce in which the parties do not jointly agree to enter the collaborative law process. Under the traditional litigation model for divorce, parties are bound by the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure for hearings, discovery and final trials.

 

    Prior to focusing exclusively on Family Law, Jodi had over 15 years experience as a civil trial lawyer in both State and Federal courts throughout the United States. She has handled all types of civil litigation, including insurance defense, personal injury, commercial litigation, construction litigation and products liability. She has substantial experience taking depositions, conducting discovery, arguing motions, handling contested hearings, mediations and trying cases.

 

    In the traditional litigation process, disputes that are not settled are resolved by the Court at contested hearings. Parties usually attend mediation before a final trial. Jodi is a seasoned negotiator with hundreds of mediations resulting in settlement.
